How we started Read Our Story

Engage with Agape. God is Love

In the heart of the pandemic, a beacon of hope emerged in Magada village, Eastern Uganda. Founded by Patrick in March 2021, Agape Children's Family began with a simple mission – to save children facing the dire impacts of the pandemic.

In those initial days ,the village was gripped with hunger, the children were left parentless thus facing a harsh reality. Agape's Journey started with three children, who Patrick fed daily with some bread and drinks. On gathering daily they sung and danced to traditional songs that ignited hope. As the need render help grew, so did the Agape family hence reaching out to 23 souls.

For decades, it is known worldwide that Uganda is one of the countries that have been strongly hit by poverty, diseases, war, illiteracy, conflicts and now covid19 pandemic left the country especially children vulnerable to critical levels of starvation, malnutrition, homelessness, child mothers, neglected, abused, trans-generational poverty, death among others.

Tragically, on April 8, 2021, we lost Derrick one of our family member to sickness, he got sick, rushed to a clinic at the district then referred to the Mbale hospital for blood support and due to financial constraints he couldn’t make it. His passing became a pivotal moment, highlighting the urgency of our mission. The suffering was not confined to Magada; it echoed across Uganda throughout the pandemic until now.

Despite the challenges, Agape Children's Family stands resilient in 2024, supporting 22 children who carry stories of struggle and determination. Our dream is to extend this support to thousands more, breaking the cycle of suffering that persists in Uganda.

Agape Children’s Family is more than an organization; it's a family, a portal into the journey of compassion, resilience, and hope. Join us in scripting a new narrative where every child finds solace, education, and love. Together, we can bring an end to the silent suffering.

About Our Founder

My name is Patrick Baligasima, and I do all my best in my pursuit of serving humanity.

I’m a son to Bishop Patrick and Mummy Felister Baligasima, the founders and President of Discipleship Missions International and one of the 24 elders of the National Fellowship of Born Again Pentecostal Churches in Uganda and in charge of Ordinations countrywide.

I’m currently continuing in the world of academia on a path pursuing a PhD in China, by God’s grace and excellent performance, I was given a scholarship in China and continue to do my research to profit the world at large.

In 2023, I was warmly welcomed and became a member of the International Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Association of Guangdong-Hong Kong (IYIEA-GDHK)

As a proud member, I continue to embrace the spirit of service of the association with a Slogan: "Empowering Tomorrow's Leaders, Today". My involvement continues to provide me with valuable opportunities to engage with communities, advocate for change, and extend a helping hand to those in need.

In 2024, I participated in the Guangzhou Red Cross Society (China) class sessions aimed at equipping citizens with emergency life saving skills.

Hailing from the vibrant landscapes of East Africa, Uganda, I have found solace and purpose in the realm of music with awards won. My journey as a prominent musician has been a testament to the power of art in fostering unity, the Gospel, spreading messages of hope, and igniting positive change within communities.

My philanthropic endeavours extend beyond borders, as evidenced by my participation in the Red Cross activities in Guangzhou City, Guangdong, China, all for the purpose of learning skills to save lives.

At Agape Children's Family, our mission is deeply rooted in compassion, empathy, and a steadfast commitment to uplifting the lives of those we serve. We stand as beacons of hope, dedicated to reaching out to the most vulnerable among us and empowering them to build brighter futures.

Our mission is to deliver holistic support to underprivileged children in Uganda, East Africa, addressing their educational, nutritional, and healthcare requirements. We are dedicated to addressing their educational, nutritional, and healthcare needs with a level of excellence that mirrors the esteemed standards set by global philanthropic leaders such as UNICEF, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Ford Foundation, and the MacArthur Foundation.
